UK Exclusive First Review!
The improved version of Prologic’s Frame-X bivvy, I first got a glimpse of the X1 at Carp In The Park, but then more recently I saw it properly while out on the 7 Top Tips shoot with Prologic-backed Rik Johnson this month.
I was immediately impressed by how quickly the innovative X-Frame design allowed Rik to set it up, literally a few seconds, even quicker than a pram-hood design. Once up, it was also absolutely drum tight and extremely solid. Even my efforts to shake the life out of it saw the X1 barely yield an inch.

There are literally hundreds of shelters on the market, all of which offer some benefit or other, from ease of use, large floor space, small packed-away dimensions and all other manner of stuff to entice you to use them.
However, Sonik has, thankfully, produced the XTI with one thing in mind – comfort.
Let’s face it, that’s what a bivvy should primarily offer you, unless you’re the ‘take as little as you can’ travelling-type angler.
With generous dimensions, a luxurious 20,000HD Armatek outer and solid three-rib construction, this will keep you happy through the very worst conditions.
Many modern carp anglers look for ease of use in a product, and why not? With limited time on the bank you don’t want to waste it setting things up when you could be looking for fish or getting those rods in the water. This is why brollies have come back in fashion, but they aren’t very good when used as a long-term session shelter.
Bridging the gap between convenience, ease of use and unrivalled weather protection, the XTI Supadome was born.
Erected in no time via a push brolly-type system, the Supadome provides a large internal footprint capable of housing all your tackle, food and more while out on the bank.
SONIK's new AXS range of shelters provide a welcome range of features at a welcome price point. If you're in the market for a new shelter, these are well worth a look!
So you thought bivvies were all pretty much the same. I’m guessing a pole, material, a few pegs and your away – well think again. The Airflow uses quick-inflate ‘air poles’ that have replaced traditional heavy metal poles for a quicker set-up and unique design. Supplied with a quick-action pump, the rigid and puncture-resistant tubes are inflated within minutes to form a resilient shelter that on testing proved to be at least as stable as any conventional pram-hood bivvy.
