Sufix 832 Superbraid

On the right venue I am a real braid fan and have advocated its use in certain situations for many years.
There’s always been a trade-off, however, between a braid that casts well and one that sinks. Generally, you cannot have one without sacrificing the other. The 832 was first given to me to play around with last year, and it took me a while to spool it up. However, more recently I’ve had occasions to use it a fair few times and can honestly say that it’s been a revelation. Okay, it doesn’t sink like an out-and-out sinking braid might, but then it doesn’t float annoyingly either.

Once I’ve dipped my rod tip (as you would normally) the 832 can be encouraged to sink quite effectively. Yet, it retains a thin diameter, which is imperative when casting. I’m sold on it and always keep spare spools in my rucksack with the 832 loaded up and ready to go. It’s certainly not cheap but, unlike mono lines, you don’t need to change braid so often so you should get plenty of use out of the 832 once spooled up. Besides, you get what you pay for and this is worth that investment.
