Fox Camotex Stiff And Camotex Soft

I have mixed opinions on these two hook links, the soft version of which I really like and the stiff one I really don’t.
Okay, so the best bit first; the Camotex Soft is easy to use, strips nicely, has a nice diameter (I’ve tested the 15lb) and the camou finish is an improvement on Fox’s Coretex, which I’ve used before. Having used it two or three times now it’s never looked like letting me down. There are some excellent coated braids out there and this is definitely up there with the best of them.

My gripe with Camotex Stiff is not so much with this material but with any stiffer, coated braids. If I’m going to tie a stiff rig then I’ll do so with stiff materials. Any hook link that I have to boil a kettle before being able to straighten and use it, simply isn’t for me. I don’t always take a kettle for a start!

So, nothing against this particular hook link, but this style of material doesn’t float my boat. The soft version, however, is definitely staying in my tackle box and I’m looking forward to giving it a bit more use.
