Enterprise Tackle Imitation Baits

There are only one or two members of the TC staff who have been involved with the magazine long enough to remember when Frank Warwick first brought Enterprise’s imitation sweetcorn to our attentions.

At the time, although largely taken for granted today, it was revolutionary and anglers were gobsmacked at how effective it was. Our editor, Marc Coulson, caught his very first 20-pounder on two grains of yellow corn way back in his early career on this magazine.
Nowadays there is a plethora of imitation baits available, and not just the corn either. Some are made to simply stand out and are available in all manner of colours. Nevertheless, the majority of Enterprise’s maintain an element of imitation, looking remarkably like the bait that they’re designed to replicate.
The latest one is the revamped Imitation Corn, in both buoyant and sinking versions. These are as realistic as it gets and are barely discernible from the real thing. Each pack, containing 10 baits, also comes with short and long hooked bait stops, in exactly the same colour as the baits. Try spodding a bit of particle out, with some corn thrown in, and then use this stuff on the hook – it’s superbly realistic and the carp will love it.
Enterprise’s range is vast and includes bread, mixers, maggots, worms, casters, hemp and even snails… and more.
As well as selling these imitation baits individually, there are now three terrific little flip-top boxes that contain selections of baits available. The two that will be of particular interest to carp anglers are the Carp Box and the Pop-Up Corn Box, each of which is most definitely worth checking out.
