Pop-up rigs have sprung up in popularity over the last few years, igniting a need for extremely buoyant yet highly attractive pop-up hook baits.

Well how about 12mm hook baits that offer enough buoyancy without a cork ball insight? Sounds interesting right?

The new range from Blakes Baits is exactly that. It’s available in a wide array of flavours, including Fruit Poptail, Pukka Pear – which is one of my favourites – Aniseed Dream and Nut-Mix Scopex & Peach, to name but a few.

Designed for use with chod rigs, stiff hinged presentations, multi rigs and more, they have been tested and proven to hold a size 4 hook up for eight days, at which point the team were satisfied and called it a day.

Needle friendly, allowing for a secure attachment either via hair rig or bait screw, each bait is porous enough to ooze high leakage levels of flavour and attractors, providing you with an unrivalled hook bait. Strong enough to avoid the pesky attention of nuisance species, these baits allow you to fish with smaller baits, ideal as an inconspicuous free offering or as a topper for large bottom baits; ideally suited to 18mm baits.
