PUKKA! If cool-looking indicators are your thing, and you haven’t been living under a rock for the last few years, you’ll be familiar with this versatile and varied range of heads. Designed in conjunction with Muddy Waters, they are the choice of very many carp anglers, especially those who want their kit to look just right. However, it is not just in the looks department that they score highly. With several sizes ranging from the smallest (10mm x 22mm) Clinga Old Skool, the slimline Clinga Lite, my favourites the Clinga Dumpy, Clinga Standard and then the daddies of the bunch the Clinga XL, XXL and Long Range, there really is a head size and weight to suit every occasion.

Carbon sticks are all the rage these days, and why not. The originals were ultra-expensive but these days they are more within the range of the everyday carper. The price, as with most things, can reflect the quality, but the mid-range stuff coming out these days is impressive and these Vendas are a good example. I like the fact that they’re made in two sizes, suited to different ranges.

Designed after the huge success of RidgeMonkey’s Action Station, these new adaptors are made with alternative uses in mind. The first will hold an action camera (GoPro and so on) and either screw into a bankstick or attach to the Action Station clamp (depending on which model you go for). The second one, my favourite, houses the RidgeMonkey bivvy light and, again, allows attachment to a bankstick or bivvy frame via the clamp. This opens up a world of uses for the light, some of which we are already experimenting with.

Before the cynics pipe up and start, yes it is another bucket, but don’t look at what you can put in this bucket, think about how it can work for you. Being a modular system, straight from the off it is one item of tackle that you can tailor to suit your requirements. This can help you to eliminate other items of clumsy bulky luggage, enabling you to keep everything to hand in one convenient place. With two independent tubs inside complete with tight-fitting lids and the ability to be frozen, you can either use them to store terminal tackle or, once attaching them to the side of the bucket, fill them with water and test your rigs.

I have two weaknesses when it comes to carp kit… bobbins and little bags, and these are right up my street. In fact, I use one of these very sacks to keep some of my bobbins in! Available in DPM and plain green, there are three sizes and all of them come in extremely useful whatever you’re trying to store and keep organised. Unlike more rigid luggage or even boxes, they take up very little room and if, like me, you’ve been trying to cut your kit down a bit, they are spot-on. The relatively padded, quilted construction makes for some protection for the contents and a drawstring means they can be closed up if needs be.

Are you getting tired of having banksticks rattling around in your rod bag or falling out of your unhooking mat? Well the team at Nash has the solution. Measuring in at 60 (l) x 16 (w) x 8 centimetres (d) the dedicated luggage solution boats elastic retaining loops and offers ample space to hold up to eight individual sticks complete with alarms, indicators and rear rod rests. A heavy-duty zip gives three-sided access for ease of use and with a padded divider it helps to keep all your items in tiptop condition, even when in transit. (DM) £17.
