There is no disputing that Costa knows a thing or two when it comes to quality sunglasses and these are exactly that. With superior lenses and stylish frame to match, the Fantail Camo 580 is the cream of the crop.
Finished with a Realtree frame and bright orange Costa logo, the frame prevents light ingress from the sides, which often impairs your vision. Boasting small rubber grips on the arms help to keep them planted to your head when wondering around on the bank.
Designed with the trend for more fashionable styling in angling sunglasses in mind, these will appeal to the image-conscious carp angler. Available in two colourways – brown lens/brown frame and grey lens/charcoal frame – they boast an appearance that is a far cry from the old polarised glasses that many of us used to use. Scratch resistant, TAC polarised lenses offer clear viewing through even choppy water, removing much of the reflection from the water’s surface. They also offer UV400 protection and come complete with EVA case and cleaning cloth.
The full name for these is Last Meter Safety Clip QC Link Hollow Leaders, which is a bit of a mouthful, but explains what they are. There are different leader versions available and one of two other variations but this is the one I’ve had a play with.
The leader sinks slowly, settling nicely over bottom debris, and the lead clips work well. The pack also includes anti-tangle sleeves for the rig and even small link loops to attach the end of the rig.
From dumpy pears, Hex distance, grippers to minute pink back leads, yes you heard me, pink back leads, Donk Leadz do them all.
With the aim to offer a service to meet the angler’s needs no matter if you are fishing a lowland estate lake or highly pressured gravel pit, they do have a coating to suit. We have seen several versions of the craftsmanship and we are very impressed indeed, especially with the weed effect and peat versions, which look like they will easily take on liquids and substrate colour. The dark swivels are a nice addition to finish the lead off and, although some may say it’s pedantic, it’s my preference to be as subtle as possible.
The name of this great luggage item does it no justice because it’s really so much more than just for keeping PVA in.
I’ve had one of the smaller versions for some time and use it to store all manner of items, but this bigger one is exactly the size that I prefer. In fact, I reckon I can probably fit all of my terminal tackle, PVA, leads and extras needed for all but the longest sessions. This is an absolute winner and proof positive that the best products don’t always need to be the big stuff.

The Tackle Box’s Lee Jackson says: It’s nice to see this product back on the market because it makes stripping line from spools child’s play.
Designed to be used in conjunction with a cordless drill, simply tie the line to be stripped to it, squeeze the trigger on the drill and away you go. Another nice feature is that once the line is stripped, simply untwist the cap and the old.
LEE JACKSON’s VERDICT “An inventive solution that makes that dreaded job of spooling up so much easier.
LEE JACKSON SAYS: When I first saw this product at the Korda trade show I must admit to thinking that it was the simplest, most innovative and best new product on show.
Apart from when I’ve used an adjustable zig, it’s always been a bit of a bugbear of mine avoiding getting the hook/hook bait snagged up in the undergrowth, on the ground or ending up casting out with a leaf or twig impaled on my hook.
The clue’s in the name I suppose – a hook hooks into things! Prior to the Zig Magnet coming out I’d always placed my hook bait in a cup or suchlike prior to casting, which is sometimes a bit hit and miss. There’s no need now, though, because this clever yet simple invention can be screwed onto a bankstick, adjusted to the required height and has a swivelling magnetic disc on the top for holding the hook off the ground prior to casting.
Designed after the huge success of RidgeMonkey’s Action Station, these new adaptors are made with alternative uses in mind. The first will hold an action camera (GoPro and so on) and either screw into a bankstick or attach to the Action Station clamp (depending on which model you go for). The second one, my favourite, houses the RidgeMonkey bivvy light and, again, allows attachment to a bankstick or bivvy frame via the clamp. This opens up a world of uses for the light, some of which we are already experimenting with.

Awesome! There are a few underwater cameras available these days but none that can do what the FishSpy does, and that is to beam live pictures back to your phone or device in real time.
What’s even more impressive is that it does so without the need for any phone signal, Bluetooth or Wi-Fi because it creates its own Wi-Fi signal unique to each unit and synced device. So, how does it work? Well, in layman’s terms, you cast it out as you would a marker float and let it up to the surface, at which point it will begin connection to the synced device. Once connection is established you can live view exactly what the camera sees.
