Cygnet Clinga Indicator Heads

PUKKA! If cool-looking indicators are your thing, and you haven’t been living under a rock for the last few years, you’ll be familiar with this versatile and varied range of heads.

Designed in conjunction with Muddy Waters, they are the choice of very many carp anglers, especially those who want their kit to look just right. However, it is not just in the looks department that they score highly.

With several sizes ranging from the smallest (10mm x 22mm) Clinga Old Skool, the slimline Clinga Lite, my favourites the Clinga Dumpy, Clinga Standard and then the daddies of the bunch the Clinga XL, XXL and Long Range, there really is a head size and weight to suit every occasion.

There is also a range of colour versions in the heads as well as white PTFE versions, which are heavier at each size than the acrylic ones. So if you like to match your bobbin to your alarms you’re well catered for.

In a nutshell, the different sized heads, matched with the excellent Kippa Klips, are each suited to various ranges, as well as your personal preference. The middle versions are undoubtedly more versatile and will suit the majority of anglers, while the Old Skool is designed primarily for close-in and slack-line work, with the big ones designed with range fishing in mind.

As I mentioned, these are the bobbin of choice of very many top anglers and a number of carpers like you and me, not so much in the ‘top’ category. It’s no surprise why, considering their uses and very reasonable price compared with some. (MC)
