The TC boys get to grips with tackle and bait, testing them to the limit out on the bank. Here’s what they think…

Test period: Six months

Marc Coulson says: I was first given a sample spool of this stuff some six months ago and more recently have been lucky enough to get sufficient line to use it on one set of spools.

I’ve long been a fan of braid but have always been frustrated with the trade off between it casting well and sinking. Traditionally, no braid has done both.

However, on the occasions that I have used this stuff it has been a revelation. Its diameter lends itself to casting, although it is perhaps just a little behind the really specialised casting braids, but the unique strand of Gore material running through it also makes it sink.

It perhaps takes a fraction longer to sink than one or two of the out-and-out sinking braids of a much higher diameter, but it definitely sinks – and stays sunk!
If there is a drawback it is only that for this type of performance you pay a premium price.

Marc's Verdict
Performance: ★★★★★★★★★★
Value: ★★★★★★★★★★
Excellent braid with decent sinking properties
