TC reader Geraint Thomas says: "When Marc Coulson e-mailed me and gave me a choice of a few products to review I immediately jumped at these, given that there is a total leader ban on my water.
"This problem is solved with the taper from 40lb down to 10lb. Imagine it as a giant tapered leader that fills your spool. I managed to fit it almost perfectly on my reel, so there was no need for backing or, importantly, trimming any of the thicker line off.

"So far it has performed really well, the only slight downside is that it has suffered a bit of line twist on occasions; nothing too bad but it has been a little noticeable compared with a normal mono main line.

"The colour is nice and neutral and, while it doesn’t disappear completely in the water, it certainly isn’t blatant. It’s definitely helped me hit spots that are further out and, in keeping with my fishery rules, without the need for any leader knots. I’m definitely keen to keep using it."
