Korda N Trap Semi Stiff

Having just undertaken a Buyer’s Guide review on hook links, I was keen to give a few a go on my next few sessions on the bank. Hook-link material can be a personal thing so it always pays to have a play around.
I used the N-Trap Semi Stiff in weedy green for fishing this winter because it blends in well with the lake bed and its inherent stiffness helps to prevent tangles. The coating is resilient so it won’t break when tying knots in it.

However, this factor is carefully balanced with how easy it is to strip the coating back to reveal the supple braid at the core. I have been using it on my reverse-combi-link rigs, combining it with another favourite from the Korda range, the Mouth Trap, and I am supremely confident in the setup for both its reliability in snaggier situations and camouflage properties in shallow, clear water.

Although it’s not cheap, I would happily pay for the reliability and confidence I have in the N-Trap. I will definitely be keeping hold of a spool or two in the future; it’s become a real tackle-box stalwart.
