The Tackle Box’s Lee Jackson says: An excellent bit of kit for keeping the chill off on those cold winter nights.
The 1,000W adjustable burner is housed in a protective cage for safety purposes and is best run on a 500-size low-pressure gas cartridge that screws in the bottom. It’s designed to be used in a well-ventilated space, therefore a bit of care and caution obviously has to be taken on where it is placed to warm up a bivvy to avoid accidents. I’ve used one of these when the temperature has been well below freezing outside, a little tip being to stand the gas cartridge in a metal container with hot water in it to warm the gas inside and make the burner burn more efficiently.
With all the features that UK carp anglers have come to expect in the form of tone, volume and sensitivity adjustment, the SNZs are impressive bite alarms for the money. With neat features such as the night-light function, they can be bought singally or as a set with a receiver. They come supplied with plastic covers that keep the alarms protected in transit. The receiver has a built-in courtesy light that can be turned on and off manually.
Rambling through the dew-sodden grass is a regular occurrence when fishing and out on features, so what I needed was a pair of boots that would offer me protection but comfort when worn for long periods. Although these are not the lightest boots I have ever worn, they are by far the most protective so far. Constructed from full-grain leather with Vibram Trek rubber soles, the Hunter Boots are waterproof to above the ankle and breathable too, which is great if you run hot. While on the subject, the soles have been treated with Agion antimicrobial treatment that helps to eradicate that awful damp-dog smell; so keeping these in the house doesn’t cause me too much grief with the housemate.
Reliability and performance for a reasonable price… the Black Widow rod and reel combination gives the angler quality Daiwa pedigree without having to break the bank. The rod is made from a lightweight carbon blank, with slim DPS-style reel seat for that custom look. Decals have been kept to a minimum to give it a classy look, with 50mm ringing on all but the 10ft version, while super-sturdy stainless steel rings and ceramic guides keep friction to a minimum. The Black Widow reel complements the rods perfectly.
Telescopic waterproof camouflage umbrella Sturdy construction of 190T nylon taffeta and polyurethane-coated aluminium 101 centimetres of coverage when open Perfect whether you are walking the dog or doing a bit of stalking
