World-renowned fishing equipment manufacturer, Hardy & Greys, is seeking a new owner following a strategic review of the business. The Alnwick-based fishing tackle maker has held ten Royal Warrants over the last century and numbers the Prince of Wales among its customers. For the last 45 years, it has been a wholly-owned subsidiary of Harris & Sheldon Group Ltd – a family-owned private investment group.

54-8-0 monster for former match star. Craig White has banked the Half Lin mirror from Vinnetrow, dropping it on the scales at 54-8-0. The fish smashed his personal best by over 13lb. He explained: “The Half Lin was my 14th different fish since march the 1st on my first season on Vinnetrow- so it fair to say I’m having a good year! My previous PB was 41-4 which was also from Vinnetrow earlier this year.
Fully scaled beauty rewards patient angler.
Roy Akay enjoyed a session to remember at Anglers Paradise last week, bagging a stunning 26lb 8oz Fully Scaled Mirror from the Main Lake. After banking plenty of smaller fish in the early part of the week, Roy from Minehead started fishing the Main Lake around lunch time and didn’t catch until 5pm. After a positive take, the fish came in quite easily but as it neared the net Roy realised that it was a much bigger fish than others he had caught.

Three fish to 27lb for Sheffield rod. Sheffield rod Glyn Barnes enjoyed a session to remember at Nottinghamshire's Bleasby carp lake recently, taking a brace of 20lb+ fish. The 41 year old told Angling News Week: “I set up in a swim that I havent fished much before and had a lead around to find a few clear patches in the weed. After finding some nice spots, I got the rigs in position and got the kettle on.
Incredible milestone for Solar Tackle Boss. Martin Locke has just returned from a session at Rainbow Lake that saw him surpass an incredible milestone in angling achievement In the first week of a two-week trip, the Solar Tackle boss landed a 58lb mirror, which was his 100th fifty. Amazingly, the sparsely-scaled, 58lb mirror was the first carp that Martin caught from Rainbow on his first trip in November 2004 at a weight of 41lb. As far as we know, this feat has only been achieved by one other angler, Paul Hunt, who landed his 100th fifty a couple of years ago.
Maker Takes 57 Carp Haul in 48 Hours!A massive haul of a staggering 57 CARP, topped by a brace of 30-pounders, saw carp angler Tom Maker record probably one of the best-ever sessions at Oxfordshire’s famous Linear Fisheries. The Fox-backed ace spent just over 24 hours targeting the residents of the venue’s Brasenose One water. Arriving at 10am in the morning the 21-year-old set about finding a clear spot at 70 yards. Fishing over this with three rods, Tom initially baited with 10 spods of particle mix, including hemp, corn, Mainline Response pellets and Hinders Little Gemz pellets.
Monster smashes lake recordAt a whopping 47lb 15oz this is a new lake record for the Shallow Pit at the famous St Ives Lakes in Cambridgshire. Caught by angler Steve Bull, the fish, known as Colin, is an infrequent visitor to the bank, but this time slipped up to a combination of a Denham Baits Element pop-up fished over prototype pellets form the same bait company. Steve captured the monster that could well hit 50lb in the near future on his first trip to the water since early summer. .
