This month the Urban Bait team have put together the following Spring themed videos to help you start to put the brutal 'Beast from the East' weather conditions behind you. Hopefully these tips and stories from Terry and the team will inspire you to head to the lake these coming weekends.
Video 1: First up Terry Dempsey retells the story of catching the biggest common he'd ever seen. Called "Land of the Giants - The Silent Pond (part 1)", it's a heart warming story of why, even when all seems to be heading south, just staying the course can sometimes land you giant carp in the most unexpected of circumstances.
In this month’s Rig Anatomy we break down Tom Forman’s favoured presentation for when bites are hard to come by, and now you can win everything to use it yourself!

From Dusk ‘Til Dawn
A busy work and family life, combined with a burning passion for carp fishing, Duncan Arrandale believes that you should make the most of the hours of darkness while on the bank.
I’ve been a carp angler for more years than I care to admit to, and one thing that I think is hugely underutilised are the hours of darkness. This is obviously exaggerated in the winter months, but even in the warmer months where it stays light until 8pm and onwards I see time and time again that people do not make the most of their time on the bank during these periods. The lake is often quieter, the surrounding roads will become quieter too, and there are many things to exploit during this time.
Make Your Own Luck
Mr consistentJACK FUNNELLruns us through how he catches carp wherever he goes, the rules he sticks to and the edges that he uses to guarantee success.
The guys at Total Carp asked me to run through the thinking and tactics I employ that often lead to me banking a number of fish from varying venues around the UK, and how a particular mind-set can also help you too. With this said, it is hard to single out just one particular thing or reveal a certain edge; not because I am a secret squirrel, but because I don’t really know what it is that I do that would be considered different from the norm.
I don’t really pay too much attention to others, but seeing how much information there is on the internet, it would surprise me if most anglers didn’t understand the basics of carp fishing.
