Manor Farm Catch Report 9th April
Longer daylight hours have triggered the fish into moving but with the water temperature still low big catches are still elusive. At last, however, the forecast is good with double figure daytime temperatures and 6 or 7 overnight.
Damsel has been hard fishing lately but Alex managed a low double common and a 19-08 mirror. Steve Hallett bagged 2 commons at 11-08 and 12-04. Ian Payten picked up a 17lb common in the margins using groundbait and fake corn.
Becks has been fishing better with Lee Hilsden catching a low double common and a 10lb scaley. Alan Barnes bagged a 4-13 tench. Charlie Wilson caught an 18-07 common, Morgan Healan also bagged an 18-08 and Nathan a 8-08 bream. Mitchel and Liam caught 3 to 23lb between them and Lee and Matt 4 to 13lb. Martin Shipp banked a 16-08.
On Carp Lake James Wheeler banked a 23-12 common, Gary Hatchett a 23lb common. Ben Howe landed 2 upper double commons and a 5lb tench. Jamie Hexley took 4 to 21lb, including a 20-08 and an 18lb. Matthew Huxley and Graham Short both banked 3 to 19lb. Matt Barnard banked 2 commons at 15lb and 16lb. Lee Beard and Lee Whitehouse also caught an 11-08 and a mid double respectively. Elliot Bertram landed 2 low double commons. Ian Mckay banked the biggest reported at 27lb.
On Winters Den Lucas caught 4 to 26lb, Liam Chapman fishing CC Moore's Northern Specials over Live System bagged a low double common, a 19lb mirror, a 21lb mirror, a 23lb mirror and a 30-10 common.
On Booneys Tom caught a 14lb common, Michael Hunt a 15-04 common and Greg Foot a common and a mirror both at 16-05. He also landed an out of season 22-03 pike that picked up his pop up which was followed into his net by another pike of around 10lb. Sunday saw him go on to land a 21-08 mirror and a 22lb common.
This weeks match was held on Blunham. First place was Steve Whiteside on peg 20 with 45lb. Second place went to Paul Nichols on peg 15 with 29-03 and third was Paul Kyle on peg 3 with 12-01.
