SONIK | SK-TEK Sleep Systems (Video)

Sleep systems are simply a no-fuss option and make total sense when deciding on a bedchair upgrade; the ease of having a duvet or sleeping bag directly attached to the bed shouldn’t be overlooked – no more suffering from the bag sliding underneath you during the night, and even breaking free when a take from a fish is forthcoming is now not a problem.

Sonik’s new SK-TEK Sleep Systems are excellent value for money and built to an extremely high standard. The first has been given a 4-Season rating, which with its fleece-lined duvet is more than capable of keeping the angler toasty throughout the year. Coupled with the silicone treated hollow fibre fill, a newly developed Xpanda system that helps the insulation to form to the body as well internal handwarmer pockets this is clearly a tool for any serious carp angler.

With any significant investment we all like our tackle to be durable and reliable for many years to come, and the SK-TEK Sleep Systems promise to do just that. A ripstop outer material and an aluminium and steel construction frame make for a light yet sturdy bedchair. The flat profile design of the bedchairs is supported by six extendable legs, which will sit comfortably on any ground, finished off with the large round rotating mudfeet.

In the past, bedchairs have often suffered from a lack of stability, especially when sitting towards the end of it, sometimes resulting in the whole bed tipping up – not ideal! Sonik’s Stance frame design has allowed for the last two legs to sit further down the bedchair making for rock solid positioning.

The Sleep Systems also utilise two twin hinges helping the bed to fold as flat as possible, as it can often be a pain when trying to load a bedchair that refuses to do so into the back of the car! When set up the bedchair measures in at a total of 212cm in length, 84cm wide and 43cm high that can be adjusted to a maximum of 58cm. A nice little touch to the sides of the bedchair are two pouches perfect for safely storing keys, phones, wallets or receivers.

The 5-Season Sleep System uses many of the features that the 4-Season bedchair does, although the sleeping bag is significantly more suited to use in the most extreme conditions. You would think that with such feature-packed systems each bedchair would weigh an absolute ton, but this isn’t the case. The upgrade in sleeping bag does bring with it a little more weight, although at 13.6kg as opposed to the 12.5kg, a little over a kilo will go unnoticed.

If required, an extra bedchair cover can be added to further eliminate any unwanted chill although the pair of Sleep Systems will not leave any of you wanting to pack up and go home in search of warmth by the fire!

4-Season RRP: £219.99 / 5-Season RRP: £259.99
