This month I’ve been here, there, and everywhere else it seems. If I’m honest it hasn’t been the most successful of months fishing wise, although not without some success at least. The river is starting to look really good now, I’ve only done one night there this month and blanked, but what’s been most encouraging is that I’ve been seeing fish, and one was an absolute clonker! I’ve set myself a target of catching a 20lb+ fish from the stretch this winter, and from what I’ve seen and heard it’s certainly possible. A lot of anglers would smirk at a target weight that low but, to me a river 20 holds as much merit as a lake-caught 30 or even 40 pounder, they’re certainly equally as rare.

The Total Carp team get a look at the anticipated new Kevin Nash DVD. Don’t miss the brand-new DVD from Kevin Nash, The Final Account, in which he chronicles his pursuit of some truly stunning, and gigantic, carp. With just a short window to wage his campaign to catch these fish – he’s got to bank them before they start to spawn - the account begins with the pursuit of The Emporer, a carp that has occupied his mind for several years. It’s a no-holds-barred look at the trials and tribulations that follow Kevin along the way and includes some extremely raw footage of the man himself at various stages in the hunt.

France's big fish venue sees new 80lb specimen banked. France’s famous Rainbow complex has one again proved its pedigree for producing mega carp after one of the biggest commons on the world was landed at a weight of 83lb 4oz. The fish, known as Eric’s common, was banked by Greys and Chub Academy manager Jason Green, with the capture being the first time the fish has weighed in over the 80lb mark. Jason beat the stunning specimen with a Greys Torsion 13foot, 3.

Superb footage of the season's biggest carp. This week's news of the capture of the heaviest fish of the season, broken by Total Carp, set the carp world alight. Weighing in a 60lb 6oz is beat the previous best by just 2oz - but with the weather as it is, Elphicks' The Big Girl could well go on the pile on more weight before the winter really kicks in. Here is the footage of when its captor Rob Marsh got the monstrous fish to the bank of the Kent venue.

Biggest weight for 2011 beats previous best by 2oz and sees new 60 on the scene. The weight of the biggest carp of the season has been broken yet again following the capture of a 60lb 6oz specimen from a day-ticket water in Kent. Landed by carp consultant Rob Marsh from Elphicks Fisheries, the fish known as The Big Girl beats the previous best for the season by 2oz. Captured just a few weeks ago at a weight of 58lb 12oz, the massive carp has been packing on the weight to break the 60lb barrier for the first time – with many believing that the fish will go on to break the British record some time in the future.
