The original Tutti Frutti boilies have arguably accounted for as many carp captures as any other bait, ever. Praise doesn’t come any higher than that. However, the entire range has been given a tweak that should make it more effective than ever. Introducing the new Dark Tutti.
Martin Locke’s Solar Tackle has been producing top-quality bait for many years. In fact, the company celebrates its 25th anniversary in 2012 and its most notable products are undoubtedly the hook baits. There have been some absolute classics through the years, including Winter Secret, Club Mix, Bunspice & Aniseed and many more. In recent years, the Jacko Pops, Dairy Cream & Fresh Pineapple, Top Banana and Quench have proven hugely successful and, even more recently, some newer varieties have entered the range.

Not to be missed event sees one of carping's big stars visit Chelmsford tackle super store.
Free this Saturday? Then you’ll want to get yourself along to what’s shaping up to be a brilliant open day at Angling Direct in Essex. The Chelmsford branch of the tackle shop giant is inviting anglers to visit its store on March 24 to see Korda and Dawia carping star Darrell Peck for first-class demos, new kit and much more. Giving visiting anglers the benefit of his vast experience with rig building and tips on putting more carp on the bank, Darrell will be on hand to answer all of your carping questions.
Beautiful big common falls for early zig rig tactics.
An early zig rig proved to be the downfall of this stunning 45lb 2oz common recently, after being targeted by the tactic by carp ace Glenn Maulkerson. Setting out his stall at Cambridgshire’s Monks Pit, Glen knew that the carp on the venue can often slip up on zigs earlier in the year than most waters, so decided to employ the tactic – and to great effect. Setting up a 9ft hooklink Glen cast out his set up into still conditions at around 100yards range in a section of the lake where fish had been showing.
