Having seen Ian Chillcott using one of these a few months back I had to get one in for test. Essentially, it boasts three compartments, one of which is foil lined to keep bait fresh. This side also has a removable pouch for cleaning. I’ve taken this out because I have a separate bait bucket, but the rest of the bag is filled with all the gear that I need for day and overnight trips.
I’ve long been a fan of the ball-pellet-type Soluballs and these disc-like versions are very interesting. Available in all of the Nash recipes, they’re designed to use threaded down the hook link instead of a PVA stick. I use them slightly differently, and thread just one onto the hair before threading my hook bait on. This breaks down and boosts the attraction around my bait and I’ve used the Amber Strawberry ones this winter to great success.
