Gloucestershire venue's one-off reduction.
Cherry Lakes, near South Cerney in Gloucestershire is offering an exclusive winter deal, which will see prices greatly dropped through the months of January and February.

Venue owner, Mike Kirsch explained: "This is our first winter as Cherry Lakes with the Lodges. It is also our first winter since we drained and re-modelled the lake as well as added to the carp stocks. As such Cherry Lakes has no winter pedigree.

"Whilst the fishing will no doubt be slower over the coming months than in the summer, I think this is the time of year when the lodges really come into their own. Having spent a number of winters in my much keener ‘hard core’ days freezing in a bivvy and sitting in the dark for up to 16 hours a night, a ‘winter session’ in a lodge seems like heaven to me.

"I am very keen to encourage both previous and new guests to visit Cherry Lakes during the depths of the winter. We are really interested to see what the lake might produce. In my experience it is often the bigger fish which get caught as they tend to feed on a more regular basis than the smaller fish. They are also approaching their heaviest weights of the year. The lake, however, does need to be fished regularly to really assess where the carp are grouped up and at what times of the day or night they are feeding. Determining the answers to the last two points is the key to winter success.

"To encourage visitors and help us build a better picture of how Cherry Lake performs in the winter, we are significantly reducing our prices from January 3rd to February 14th through our ‘early bird’ offer. The price of a lodge from Friday to Monday is being reduced to £245 (from £345) and Monday to Friday to £275 (from £395). This offer applies to all lodges including Kingfisher Lodge.

"As they always seem to say in the adverts... 'hurry whilst stocks last!'

"And just to whet your appetite, this absolute stunner has not been caught since last held at 28lb by Dave Bowen the fishery manager in the summer. Imagine what she looks like now in her full winter colours. She is also likely to be over the magic 30lb-plus mark. Just think you could be thinking about catching her, whilst sitting in the warmth of the lodge, watching a DVD, and drinking a glass of wine with your missus. Winter fishing at it’s best!"
