Copy Of Carp In 4 Cancer

Droitwich Angling Centre (DAC) is taking part in the upcoming Carp-In-4-Cancer charity fishing competition where, every year for the last seven years, a group of anglers raises money for the non-government-funded hospices that the Carp-In-4-Cancer charity supports. This year the event is taking place this weekend, starting Friday, June 13th.

So far Carp-In-4-Cancer has raised a total of over £45,000. Last year it raised just under £10,000, which enabled it to donate £5,000 each to the Arthur Rank Hospice in Cambridge, and Katherine House Hospice in Stafford. Every penny goes to the charity and everything, from the fishing venue to the prizes, has been donated.

This time around the event is being held at Bedfordshire’s famous Blue Lagoon, at Arlesey, where DAC’s Steve Wyton, in his wisdom, has decided that the shop’s team will be competing in fancy dress. Steve himself will be wearing a baby outfit (a truly frightening sight) and Russ Guise will be wearing a giraffe onesie! They don’t mind looking daft to get the money in for an amazing cause and they are sticking their necks out for some real ridicule.

Why don’t YOU get involved, by sponsoring them? Or go along to watch the fishing, buy a raffle ticket, bid for something in the auction or simply get involved for a great cause.

To sponsor Steve and Russ call Droitwich Angling Centre on 01905 779300 or e-mail [email protected].
