JAPANESE bait specialist Marukyu Europe Ltd, has made the acquisition of British-based carp specialist, Rig Marole. It is Marukyu Europe' s first acquisition since it was created in 2010.


Rigmarole is a British specialist in terminal tackle. It has been privately owned for 11 years.
The deal to buy Rig Marole includes the retention of the services of former owner, Nigel Harris.
The move further emphasizes Marukyu's ongoing commitment to the European market and opens up new avenues for Marukyu on a global scale.
John Loftus, chairman of Marukyu Europe, said: "We are delighted to have completed this deal. The acquisition of Rig Marole opens up new opportunities for both Marukyu and Rig Marole in Europe and beyond.

"Marukyu has made no secret of the fact that it was looking to expand its European operation and we see Rig Marole as a great fit. It is a firmly established brand with great potential. With investment and the continued drive and passion of Nigel, the brand has a huge future."

Nobuyoshi Okada, executive director at Marukyu Japan, adds: "Rig Marole is a relatively small but well-positioned name in the carp sector and it shows great potential. With on-going investment and Nigel's creative talent we see a great future with this brand."
The ongoing commitment of Rig Marole's founder, Nigel Harris, is seen as integral to the business.
