Peruse Dave Lane’s excellent article in the January Issue of Total Carp and you’ll see that hemp plays a huge part in his baiting approach at this time of year.
For Dave Lane, read any number of top carp anglers, because so many of them are singing from the same hymn sheet, so to speak.
While particles might not necessarily feature in the plans of many of us, hemp is the exception and is a stunning cold-water attractor and feed. It’s also perfect for maintaining the carp’s attention over a period of time.

Regarded as one of Sticky’s best-selling products, this highly attractive liquid is not only extremely versatile but has a proven track record, catching literally hundreds of carp across the country.
Utilizing real bloodworm, this natural liquid is a product that cannot be overdosed and helps to fool even the wariest of carp into thinking a natural harvest of bloodworm has occurred.
On applying this nutrient-richadditive, it generates an appealing and visual hazy cloud that sits over the substrate, allowing the carp to feed freely and with confidence. The liquid can be added to pellets, particles and even soaked into boilies, but it can really come into its own when used in spod mixes.

I love a bit of liquid bait and L030 (L-zero-thirty) is one of the very best out there.
Most of the top bait companies produce a derivative of this awesome carp attractor and feed. CCMoore has always offered one of the best L030s around and the tuna adds an altogether different dimension.
This thick syrupy concoction is hugely versatile.
Designed to be added to any bait whatsoever, these PVA-friendly boosters will enhance the profile of whatever you use it with.
Ideal as a soak or as an ingredient in damp bag mixes, spod mix or sticks they’re packed with attractors.
I’ve been playing with this cream version but there are also spice, fish and fruit varieties.
The cream is absolutely sublime and works brilliantly as the water temperatures begin to cool.

Brand new this month, we see two intriguing liquids hit the shelves in the shape of the Tuna L030, which is better than the original L030, and Liquid Tuna Extract. Both these highly attractive, versatile liquids are PVA friendly, lending themselves to a variety of applications from inclusion in base mixes, PVA bags or, as Matt Jackson demonstrated on page 78, they are great at boosting your boilies straight from the bag. The thinner of the two is the Liquid Tuna Extract and it’s my favourite. The rich aroma smells like tuna straight from a can and I’m dying to give it a go.
