Wychwood D Ploy Bivvy System

When we heard that Wychwood had produced a bivvy that unlike its previous products was not price sensitive, we were pretty excited. On unveiling it at its tradeshow we were not only surprised but also a little bit gobsmacked.

Completely different from what we had in mind, this new, innovative piece of kit really
does bring a new level to fishing shelters, in terms of design, features and looks. The D-ploy
was developed over an extensive period, picking the brains of some of the country’s most influential anglers, like Nigel Sharp and John McAllister, to name but a few. It’s designed to be a necessity for anglers who like to be on the move while keeping space and weight to a minimum, but equally as accommodating to take larger bedchairs and plenty of tackle you may need on longer session. Consider this a bivvy-brolly hybrid, easy to erect but ample internal space to protect you from the elements.
Utilising Wychwood’s brand-new HD RipStop material, as you would expect, it is highly hydrophobic and resilient to brambles, bushes and other shrubs you may find yourself setting up in. Lightweight and durable, the RipStop membrane allows the D-ploy to outperform other shelters and to demonstrate Wychwood’s confidence it is also covered under a five-year warranty. From the rear you will be
quick to notice the shiny silver spreader block, which has been manufactured right here in the UK in conjunction with JAG.
This is one premium piece of kit makes For easy use when erecting and dismantling the shelter. With reinforced aluminium
ribs, peaked front, quick strap overwrap system and an ingenious and pukka three- quarter groundsheet, the
D-ploy is as featured packed as shelters come. Complete with groundsheet, multi-door system, pegs and overwrap, it weighs in at 11kg. On its own, which is how I prefer to use it, the shelter weighs a mere 5kg. Now that’s cool.
