Based on the hugely successful Monster Tiger Nut boilie recipe, Dynamite added a new fruit palatant and made one or two tweaks to produce this wonderfully sweet, nutty and creamy bait. After initial testing, Dynamite knew it was on to a winner, with lots of its consultants reporting impressive results. A tweak to the colour, which is now a washed-out pink, resulted in the finished article, which eventually made its way into the range of baits produced by the Nottingham-based giant. The success continued apace, with some huge hits on day-ticket waters, as well as some notable captures of individual big carp, such as The Chertsey Mirror at over 55lb.
I’ve wanted a Fox box for many years but have struggled to justify the price tag. However, Fox’s Royale version is much more keenly priced, although thanks to TC I didn’t have to pay for this one and was delighted when asked to review it. It’s been great so far and I can get loads of tackle and essential items into it. Although it sounds a bit of a cliché, it is literally a TARDIS for terminal tackle.
As a big-pit angler, I’m always mucking around on the boat or in my waders looking for that special spot, so I was the best candidate to test the new Cygnet Prodding Stick. What I first liked was its lightweight design and the fact that it floats. I was pleasantly surprised how quickly and easily it was to recognise the difference in the bottom substrate. Each section is clearly marked in 1ft increments to give you an accurate depth and it attaches by a screw thread, which is easy to do, even with cold and wet hands.

Over the winter Wildmoor Waters has made some significant changes to the Main Lake. By separating the summer as Summer Bay, and the new heart-shaped lake now benefits from a reprofiled bottom. A number of submerged features were created as part of this exercise, as previously the bottom was quite flat, so there are now more areas to hold fish.
Other advantages are that the fish density is now even higher than it was before, and the crafty carp can no longer nip over into Summer Bay, out of the reach of anglers in the lodges.
