Bite alarms are an essential item of all carp anglers’ tackle and have always been an area in which to avoid the cheaper varieties. However, JRC is changing all that by offering affordable, all-weather alarms fit for use and backed with a two-year warranty.


With three models in the Radar C range, prices begin at a mere £19.99 and go up to £34.99.
Let’s start with the baby, the Radar C1. With a bright travelling red LED and 20-second latching LED, these alarms feature adjustable volume, which is projected from a Magneto-dynamic speaker with digital amplifier for superior sound quality.
The casing is built from a strong and durable high-impact ABS material and all parts have been double sealed to ensure waterproof protection. Not bad considering you get change from a £20 note.
The C2 and C3 are built from the same tough casing and are subject to the waterproofing. However, differences start with the change to blue LEDs, adjustable tone as well as the volume, and the C3 also benefits from adjustable sensitivity from three to 150 millimetres in just four easy steps.
Each alarm has superb battery life, which is a must – the last thing you want is to run out halfway through a session, and all batteries are included. Now you can’t say fairer than that! (DM)
