If wellingtons aren’t really your thing and you much prefer a boot, do not fear – the Fieldman Boot is here. Made from real full-grain leather and a Vibram Trek rubber sole, the Hydroguard membrane means these boots are waterproof yet breathable. The 200gms insulation will keep your feet warm while minimising the dreaded sweat. However, if you do suffer from smelly or sweaty feet, the boots have been treated with an Agion antimicrobial solution for odour resistance.

The Tactical Elite Jacket is of alightweight nature and has the ability to remain water resistant while retaining a very stashable size means this item would be great for anyone who likes to travel light and take the minimum amount of kit, but we’d not recommend it for heavy winter downpours. Five external pockets allow you to keep everything at hand while the stashaway hood, which is inside the collar, enables you to keep one step ahead of the weather. Underarm zips allow you to maintain a comfortable internal temperature; great for when you’re on the move. Available in Camo and Titanium from small to XXL, we are sure this is going to be a hit.

This is a very comfortable and warm Tactical Fleece Jacket. Perfect to throw over the top of a T-shirt, the fleece is constructed from 250gsm polyester Gridfleece material. This was the one item our editor believes to look ‘carpy’, while offering generous amounts of valuable features. Elasticated cuffs ensure a snug fit, eliminating draughts and allowing you to roll up the sleeves, maintaining a tight fit to ensure your body heat remains inside.

The Tackle Box’s Lee Jackson says: It’s nice to see this product back on the market because it makes stripping line from spools child’s play. Designed to be used in conjunction with a cordless drill, simply tie the line to be stripped to it, squeeze the trigger on the drill and away you go. Another nice feature is that once the line is stripped, simply untwist the cap and the old. LEE JACKSON’s VERDICT “An inventive solution that makes that dreaded job of spooling up so much easier.

From dumpy pears, Hex distance, grippers to minute pink back leads, yes you heard me, pink back leads, Donk Leadz do them all. With the aim to offer a service to meet the angler’s needs no matter if you are fishing a lowland estate lake or highly pressured gravel pit, they do have a coating to suit. We have seen several versions of the craftsmanship and we are very impressed indeed, especially with the weed effect and peat versions, which look like they will easily take on liquids and substrate colour. The dark swivels are a nice addition to finish the lead off and, although some may say it’s pedantic, it’s my preference to be as subtle as possible.

There is no disputing that Costa knows a thing or two when it comes to quality sunglasses and these are exactly that. With superior lenses and stylish frame to match, the Fantail Camo 580 is the cream of the crop. Finished with a Realtree frame and bright orange Costa logo, the frame prevents light ingress from the sides, which often impairs your vision. Boasting small rubber grips on the arms help to keep them planted to your head when wondering around on the bank.

This could end up being my product of the year: I love it. Quite simply, the two versions attach to either a Tempest Composite or Tempest Brolly to convert them to a genuine two-man shelter. Essentially, an elasticated section sits over the Tempest rib and then the whole thing extends forwards to an Armo-style front pole. It’s ridiculously easy to set up and, once it’s on, you can easily get two bedchairs in lengthways.

LEE JACKSON SAYS: When I first saw this product at the Korda trade show I must admit to thinking that it was the simplest, most innovative and best new product on show. Apart from when I’ve used an adjustable zig, it’s always been a bit of a bugbear of mine avoiding getting the hook/hook bait snagged up in the undergrowth, on the ground or ending up casting out with a leaf or twig impaled on my hook. The clue’s in the name I suppose – a hook hooks into things! Prior to the Zig Magnet coming out I’d always placed my hook bait in a cup or suchlike prior to casting, which is sometimes a bit hit and miss. There’s no need now, though, because this clever yet simple invention can be screwed onto a bankstick, adjusted to the required height and has a swivelling magnetic disc on the top for holding the hook off the ground prior to casting.
