Glyn's Night To Remember

Three fish to 27lb for Sheffield rod.
Sheffield rod Glyn Barnes enjoyed a session to remember at Nottinghamshire's Bleasby carp lake recently, taking a brace of 20lb+ fish.
The 41 year old told Angling News Week: “I set up in a swim that I havent fished much before and had a lead around to find a few clear patches in the weed. After finding some nice spots, I got the rigs in position and got the kettle on.

Rigs featured a Taska PVA bag with short braided hooklink, line aligner and size 7 curve hook on one rod and a snow man rig with a line aligner on the other rod.Bait was a Rollin baits inception with plum and caproic pop up fished as a snowman rig.

I had a drop back at 4.15pm which produced a 14lb mirror to the middle rod, after putting the fish back I got the rods recast for the night ahead and had some food.
At 9.00pm the middle rod was away again, after a short fight I netted a bigger fish which turned out to be one I hadn’t had before at 27lb 8oz.

Just as I got out of the water my right hand rod went!
This fish put up a bit of a scrap, but after about 10 mins it went in the net first time with some weed over its head. This fish was a 22lb 4oz mirror. All in all it was a very nice evening!”
