Every now and then an ultra-unique product makes its way on to the market, and in this particular case is totally different from any other light solution. The Fishsense Lumicatch is a rechargeable, dimmable LED light but not in the traditional sense as seen with various headtorches and bivvy lights. Instead, the light has been installed inside a durable aluminium body, which is essentially a long bank stick or short storm pole, which measures one metre in length but can extend up to a maximum of 1.43 metres. The construction provides plenty of strength for driving into various ground types, which is further aided by the sharp point. 

There are different ways in which you can operate the Lumicatch too. The first is through the manual operation of the on and off button, whereas the second method is through the dedicated Lumicatch app design for both Android and Apple users. The pairing of the device is a simple process, however, the supplied manual further provides any additional support. 

Whilst designed for use when camping or backyard use, it’s application in carp fishing is most certainly advantageous. Whether you are cooking a meal during the evening or have landed a monster carp during the hours of darkness, the Lumicatch is able to provide more than enough illumination to carry out any given task. Being dimmable also, you can adjust the light required to further enhance the battery life. With the supplied cable, charging via USB-C will take a total of four hours from empty. Fishsense has also carefully chosen to opt for a warm white bulb, which creates a far more natural lighting source. 

Rated at IP-45, the system is also weather resistant and splash proof. With every light, a tent mount is provided to use with your shelter or brolly that uses a storm pole. This therefore means the Lumicatch can replace a respective pole and provide a light source at the same time, should you require. Having the light so close to your person will mean that charging of your devices from the built-in power up function will be an absolute breeze.
