Djs Tackle Z1 Mk2 Bivvy

The Z1 is classed as a 1½-man shelter, so is slightly larger than average. I’ve never taken half a mate fishing, but if I want to take loads of gear and ‘plot up’ this is spot-on.
It’s just as quick to set it up and dismantle too, despite the extra size. I’ve been really impressed because the thoughtful features are evident from the first use. It has large mozzie-mesh vents at the back and sides – ideal with summer approaching.

I particularly like the multiple door and infill options. Seemingly being a prime target for the mozzies, I was really pleased to see that it has a full mozzie front panel, allowing me to watch the water without being eaten alive. It’s a really solid shelter too and the H20-LOK fabric boasts a 20,000 hydrostatic head, for ultimate protection. Also, a quick shake before packing away and any water simply slides off in tiny beads.

Finishing touches include the rod-retaining straps on the front rib and a clip-on groundsheet to eliminate strong draughts. Oh, considering the winter skin is included, it’s also exceptional value.
