Tom Oliver enjoys a productive week at his syndicate!Unfortunately August was not a great month for my angling as I only managed to squeeze in one quick weekend trip to my syndicate and unfortunately that didn’t produce any fish. I was very much looking forward to the month of September however as I had the first week of the month booked off work and had a lengthy trip at my syndicate planned. I was hoping to spend some time in one area and build the swim over the course of the week as this tactic can often work extremely well on this venue. I also had some filming lined up with Gardner Tackle at the latter stage of the week so hopefully by then I would have something established enough to get a few bites for the cameras.

Prolific water hunts for new bailiff. The Gigantica Lakes in France urgently require a new member of the team to cook for customers and maintain and develop the 100-acre site. This is a full-time, residential position in France, so it ideally suits an energetic and motivated person with no ties in the UK, who adapts to new environments and has a willingness to integrate into the local community. Professional tuition to learn French is part of the role.

Prosecuted angler failed to wake for 15 minutes. Recent angling press reports about an angler "being prosecuted for being asleep" while fishing for carp have generated a huge amount of interest in the wider media and on Facebook. Today, the Angling Trust has published the full facts, obtained from the Environment Agency today by Fisheries Enforcement Manager Dilip Sarkar in order to set the record straight about why this particular angler's actions presented a threat to fish and wildlife and to reassure other anglers that as long as they can take immediate control of their rods when they are awakened by a bite alarm they will not be faced with prosecution for this normal angling activity. "Mr Holbrow was prosecuted for leaving his rods unattended and for fishing without a valid rod licence.

World Carp Classic gets underway. Yesterday afternoon saw the huge opening parade of the 2013 World Carp Classic. A huge flag bearing through the centre of Bolsena town where all 27 countries represented had the chance to show their countries colours off with pride and they certainly did.
