The Sonik Xtractor+ range takes everything anglers loved about the original Xtractor series and dials it up. These rods now feature high modulus C6 carbon blanks, making them lighter, faster and more responsive, all while keeping that bulletproof reliability the original range was known for. The tough new raw carbon finish shows off the internal structure and brings a clean, no-nonsense look that fits the range perfectly.

The upgrades continue with Seaguide TDG double-leg black guides throughout, now with Adaman anti-friction coating for smoother casting and greater durability. Each rod also features a Seaguide XUT anti-frap tip ring with a zirconia slimline insert, helping to reduce tangles and line damage, especially with braided lines. The rods are finished with a matte black DPS reel seat and a sleek Japanese shrink rubber handle with a subtle flared grip for added control.

The range spans 6ft, 8ft, 9ft and 10ft models, catering for everything from tight margin work to respectable distance casting – the 10ft models in the right hands are still capable of distances exceeding 100 yards. There’s even a new 8ft Recon model for ultimate pack-down convenience where just an additional 2cm in the pack downsize versus the 6ft model gains you an additional 2ft fully deployed, so if you are really wanting transport-friendly rods but don’t want a 6ft model, Sonik has answered your call. Test curves run from 2.75lb to 3.5lb, with each rod carefully tuned to perform across a range of angling situations.

Notably, the range includes a 9ft and 10ft dedicated spod rod with a 4.5lb test curve; built to handle heavy spods with ease whilst remaining usable, its casting power and recovery speed make it a perfect match for the rest of the range.
