Schoolboy Dwarfed By Catch

11-year-old lands 47lb carp at famous Essex water.

An incredible feat of angling skill has seen a young angler bag the carp of a lifetime at just shy of in incredible 50lb.

Milton Keynes youngster George Swan, aged just 11-years-old, banked the impressive specimen at a weight of 47lb 6oz during a session with his dad at Kevin Nash’s famous Church Pool in Essex.

Known as Power Station, the big mirror fell for the schoolboy’s snowman rig, and was part of a four fish haul with three other carp of 29lb coming to his net.

Despite his young age George did everything to land the fish himself – although he needed help to lift the carp from the water and hold it for photos.

By far beating his dad’s best catch of the trip – a fish of 36lb 6oz – George fooled his big specimen using a 15mm boilie and 10mm pop-up combo presented on a size 8 Nash Fang hook. He beat his fish to the net with a 20lb Nash Missing Link hooklink, Diffusion leader and 15lb mainline.
