Reader Review Tyler Lane Reviews The Ridgemonkey Toaster
RidgeMonkey has come up with a great product to help people cook on the bankside easier.
Not only does it make toastie sandwiches with whatever you choose to put in it but you can make many different meals, from omelettes and burgers to fry-ups and even heat up your Chinese (check out Facebook RidgeMonkey recipe dedicated page).
It features:
• Lightweight die-cast aluminium pans
• Fluoropolymer non-stick coating
• Ridged exterior for even heat transfer
• Cool-touch lockable handles
• Can be used on all traditional stoves (not suitable for use on induction hobs)
There are many benefits to this product, one of them being that you can use this on your stove at home. Also nothing seems to stick to the inside of this product and as long as you use it at the correct temperatures nothing gets burnt. You do need to remember to turn the food over at regular intervals to insure thorough cooking.
My favourite things to cook in this are doughnuts, which caramelise on the outside and go all warm and spongy with a warm centre.
The drawbacks to this product are that although the non-stick inside cleans well, the outside becomes tarnished very quickly and looks dirty no matter how much scrubbing has bought it back to shiny silver.
Also, I would prefer this product to come with a cover rather than having to buy it separately, which makes it better for transportation and cleanliness. (To be fair, for £16 you can't really expect the case as well - ED)
RidgeMonkey’s toaster is priced at £16.99 in most shops and I did find this very reasonably priced for what it does. The variety of food you can heat or cook only stops where your imagination does.
