New Reel Innovation

New carp reel 'will change the way you fish' according to manufacturer.

A carp reel, heralded as offering the ‘first genuine innovation to the carp reel market since the baitrunner’ is coming to a tackle shop near you this autumn.

Wychwood’s Solace 10ACS looks like nearly every other baitrunner type reel on the market, but the manufacturer claims it will offer complete confidence when fishing on the clip thanks to a new intelligent line clip system that 'will change the way you fish' for good.

Originally seen on the match reels of Wychwood’s sister company MAP, the patentent ACS clip allows you to fish with the usual casting accuracy of standard line clips, but without the hassle of clipping and unclipping your line before and after every cast.

Thanks to a special two-piece design, as soon as the Solace 10ACS’ handle is turned or the clutch operates the line comes free, meaning you can leave your line clipped up safe in the knowledge it will be free to run when you hook a fish.

“On every other fixed spool carp reel on the market today, if you don’t take the line from the clip and a powerful fish runs you have to release the line manually or the fish will snap the mainline or the clip,” said a spokesperson for Wychwood.

“With ACS this isn’t the case, it takes away the doubt and saves the angler a great amount of time, disturbance and difficulty.”

Orders for the new Solace 10ACS will start being taken from September with a recommended retail price of £89.99.
