Korda Backs Team England

Top tackle firm signs deal to support England's international carp anglers.

English carp fishing received a huge boost this week with the news that one of the UK’s top tackle brands is to inject over £100,000 into supporting the country’s anglers in the World Carp Championships.

Korda has signed a five year deal with the sport’s governing body the Angling Trust, which will see the company plough the six figure sum into backing England’s best carpers as they compete at international level.

As well as helping to fund the physical logistics of competing at international level, including getting the anglers to wherever in the world they need to be, the Trust is also hoping that Korda’s support will push coverage of the sport to a new level in the UK.

“Korda's involvement will help produce a platform to propel international carp fishing to a new level in this country,” said an Angling Trust spokesperson. “With their expertise in delivering excellent television, internet and magazine material, along with an abundance of commercial knowledge, Carp Team England's journey will be televised and covered heavily in the angling media.”

Highly-respected carp angler and Korda’s marketing guru, Ali Hamidi, also spoke about the deal:

"We’re delighted to work with the Angling Trust to support Carp Team England. For years now there has been insufficient financial backing for the team, almost no media recognition and despite some good results that elusive gold team medal has not been achieved.

“I believe everything goes hand-in-hand, if you've got great back office support, with a unified patriotic team, and the talent pool of anglers that we have in this country then we can all look forward to a great future with Carp Team England becoming the most successful carp team in world angling.”
