Wychwood angler’s run of form sees quartet of best fall in weeks. Four personal bests in a row is not a run of fish to be sniffed at, and a figure that has given Wychwood-backed rod Roy Russell a couple of weeks to remember. The venue for the 43-year-old’s amazing run was Oxfordshire’s Richworth Linear complex, where Roy had smashed his PB carp twice in one session on his last trip with fish of 39lb and 40lb 2oz. Keen to get back and chance his arm again, the Walsall-based carper’s latest trip to Manor Farm Lake (the day-ticket scene of the previous session) saw him do the double again, this time with a new PB carp of 41lb 4oz and a welcome surprise of a tench weighing in at a whopping 10lb 4oz.
Carp angler joins team as sponsored angler following nail-biting competition. Inviting angling CVs from carpers across the country to apply for the position, the Bait-Tech team were overwhelmed by the quality of the response they got. After finding it too hard to make a final decision it was decided that the winner would be chosen in the best way possible – a fish off, as Bait-Tech;s Business Development Director, Hayley Goldsmith explains:“With the standard so very high we simply couldn’t pick a winner until we had seen them all in action,” said Hayley.

Eagle-eyed readers will have noticed an error in this month’s Total Carp magazine. Somehow, in Kevin Hewitt’s feature on the Method, we managed to duplicate the words from his brilliant piece on PVA bags from the previous issue. We’re sorry for this, but to soften the blow we’ve printed the entire, correct, version right here. We think you’ll agree, it’s well worth a read.

56lb stunner makes one angler's big day one to remember.
Sometimes fishing can give you perfect moments, and for West Sussex carper Elliot Golds, a 48hour session on his local venue Menards Carp Fishery delivered just that. Targeting the venue’s 6acre water, Elliot was celebrating his 30th birthday while on the session and had a present to remember in the form of this 56lb 14oz mirror. Known as Buttons, the fish fell for an 18mm Mainline Cell boilie fished to an island from the water’s peg 4.
The Epic Foldall is so named because of the large bivvy table that folds out from the rear external pocket. It’s contained neatly, packing away parallel to the rear wall, which not only makes it a compact addition but also adds rigidity to the bag’s structure. Measuring 45 by 25 centimetres, the table is plenty big enough to rest several items on and is a perfect little desk for tying rigs on and suchlike. The ridges around the sides ensure that items such as boilies and small terminal bits won’t fall off either.
The word Titan has always been synonymous with super-strong bivvies from Nash. The unique spreader-block system and the resulting angle of the poles provide ultimate rigidity and impressive internal space. What’s more, the aerodynamic shape, consistent throughout the range, helps ensure that they will never be uprooted. An evolution of the original Titan bivvy, this new all-season brolly version has a slightly smaller footprint, in mind of it being usable in even the smallest of swims.
There is infinitely more to Delkim these days than simply the market-leading alarms. A wide number of accessories are also available, including several that attach to the alarm to allow Delkim users to create a complete bite-indication system. The first of these is the D-Lok quick-release system. This not only allows easy removal and replacement of the alarms from and back on to the buzz bars, but also allows perfect alignment of the alarms.
