Fox Exocet Main Line

When I first joined my syndicate earlier this year I was greeted with the sight of a 15-acre lake absolutely choked with weed.

To be fair, choked might be a bit harsh, but it was weedy. Very weedy. I knew the first thing I needed to do was get some sturdy line that would cope with the job in hand.

I picked a few brains of those who know a bit more than I do about lines, and eventually decided to give Exocet a try.
To say I haven’t looked back would be more than a bit of an understatement. I opted, on recommendation, to spool up with the 20lb version.
It’s absolutely bomb proof, but, unlike previous lines boasting this kind of strength, it retains a ‘castability’ that has allowed me to easily hit the ranges I’ve needed, typically no more than the 120-yard mark.
As a result, I’ve been able to step up to 20lb main line for the first time in my carp fishing life and it’s been remarkable.
Fish, snags and weed have not been able to break it and, on the two occasions I have lost any tackle it has only been my hook link, both times after fish had managed to get rid of it in some weed
Breaking strains include 13lb, 16lb, 18lb, 20lb and 23lb so there is an Exocet to suit every need.
I’ve only used the 20lb, but if the rest are anywhere near as good then they’ll be spot on.
Finally, at less than 20 quid for a 1,000m bulk spool I reckon it’s exceptional value for money too! (MC)
