Not only does the snail or nymph design create the popular line aligner effect but fitting the foam through the zig aligner sideways further improves their hooking efficiency. Simply pulling over your palm shows how the foam inserted in this way dramatically promotes the hook turning and grabbing hold! If the Zigliner Nymphs and Snails were not enough, PB have gone one step further in the imitation game and created these zig insects! Based on the original Zigliners, each Zig Insect is individually handmade to have little legs which stretch out from the body like an insect. When the carp are playing hard to get, this could make the difference between blanking and putting a few extra fish on the bank. The insects are supplied in packs of four, mounted on size-10 Super Strong hooks. Just like the Zigliners, these require a foam or pop-up barrel to be mounted sideways through the loop in order for them to be buoyant.

Replicating the same testing procedures as PB’s popular Control mono, the Zig/Floater Hook Link ensures a very high breaking strain to what is a very low diameter line. The product took two years to develop and has now made a very welcome appearance to our shelves. The line is available in three diameters/strengths – 0.20mm/8lb, 0.25mm/13lb and 0.30mm/17lb – all of which come in 100m lengths.
