The Brown Beaten

Famous French specimen comes to the bank for Nash man.

France’s famous Les Graviers holds some of the biggest carp in the world, including the infamous Scar Fish – a specimen that once dominated the global record top spot at just shy of 100lb.

But it was the second biggest resident of the complex’s Main Lake that made the trip of Nash field tester Paul Crocker to the venue more than worthwhile recently, when the mighty mirror graced his net at an incredible 86lb 5oz.

Paul, who last year banked the Scar Fish, fooled his latest Les Graviers whopper using 20mm Nash Scopex Squid Liver boilies presented over a bed of 100 boilies per fish at a range of 180 yards. The massive specimen was beaten by a size 5 Gaper hook to a 30lb Missing Link hooklink with 15lb NXT D-cam mainline, Paul using his Nash NR rods to subdue the big ‘un.
