This 43lb 12oz lump came as reward for a 48 session on a southern syndicate water for angler Bryan Jarrett.

During only his second trip to the venue, Bryan targeted a gully between two weedbeds in around 5feet of water a 60yards range.

“The weather during the day was extremely windy until the night and then very cold and calm for the rest of the trip,” said Bryan. “At 8.45am on the second morning I had a strong take that took lots of line and went through several weedbeds before I managed to land the fish which is known as the Simmo.”

Bryan tempted his prize using Hinders Snailz Boilies in conjunction with Carp Krunch n Chopped Tiger Nuts, Little Gemz Pellets and bottom baits dipped in Betalin, beating the big 40 using 15lb line with a 30 hooklink to a size 6 hook.
