Additional Info: This was the final morning of the session was going home absolutely buzzing, 3 takes and 2 landed in 3 days is not bad going what so ever. Very pleased with myself after the fishing really dried up on lake 2, I had to get away from there and opted to fish a swim known as herons point. I fished on a patch of gravel the size of a groundsheet no distance out, no further than a catapult away. Then went heavy on the bait as it was clear it was a race against time before they would start to spawn again, as I seen loads of fish pairing up on the surface in the daytime. I put out approximately 300 boilies a day 150 at 12 just before I reeled in to have a shower and get in the shade for the day, and 150 just as I put the rods out at about 8 at night. It’s hard going in the heat and you’re really limited with your bite times so you have to make the most of it, so in the day time I was tying rigs, pva bags, and putting hookbaits on those rigs. Basically getting ready for if I was so lucky to get a fish that I was wrapped up and back on the spot before that fish was even out of the net. A lot of my fishing is baiting little and often, keeping rigs extremely simple and planning for the future. I’m by no means a professional angler and I still have a hell of a lot to learn, but I feel that I’m improving week by week. And to have one of the bailiffs alongside you for 2 nights in the same swim and I’m the only one banking you could imagine how I felt.
