Additional Info: Knipton is about 45 acres with a fairly light stocking and plenty of out of bounds areas for the fish to hide.
It was my second trip to the lake, the weather was quite windy with pressure at around 1015mb, cloudy skies but nice and warm.
I opted for a swim called The Copse which have me plenty of water to fish in the main bowl of the lake.
I found a few good areas but the one I chose was at 21.5 wraps and around 12-13ft deep, it was nice and hard and just felt a little better than other spots.
I started with 25 large spombs and all 3 rods on the spot, the next morning I had 2 bream at 10lb and 13lb so had a feeling I had been cleaned out. I went for another 20 spombs just as the light fell.
I was having a brew at about 9am thinking that it was going to be a blank sesssion when the left hand rod slowly pulled up tight.
At first I thought it was another bream but after a minute or 2 the fish started to pull back and the battle started.
I ended up in the lake upto my chest fully clothed as the carp decided to head around a Reed bed and I couldn’t get my waders on fast enough.
It all ended well, a stunning 36lb 4oz personal best and my season target on my 3rd night.
