Jason Umney says: Although I use monofilament a lot, I recently swapped to fluorocarbon because I started fishing an intimate, gin-clear pit. The lake’s residents are cute and I’m certain that they spook from anglers’ main lines. X Line is ideal because it’s strong, sinks like a brick and virtually invisible once on the bottom. Like most fluorocarbon main line it doesn’t cast particularly well, so it’s not great if you’re trying to fish at range.
