First Impressions: Daiwa Theory Carp Rod - 23/04/2009
I remember when the Fox Warrior rod burst on the scene – a budget-end rod with a top brand name. Since then, there hasn’t really been a rod to step out of the Warrior’s shadow… until now.
The Daiwa Theory, at just £99.99 in all test curves, looks set to be hugely popular with TC readers, and for good reason. The quality of carbon in use is first class and, in the short time that I have had chance to make a few casts with it, the action and tip recovery are sound.
The slim blank, shrink-wrap handle and Fuji reel seat all add up to give the Theory a classy look as well as decent performance and I reckon that this rod is going to be one of the standout products of the year.
