Rated or Slated: Fox Deluxe Large F Box - 25/03/2010

Marc says: It’s not easy coping with extreme OCD (obsessive-compulsive disorder) and, as many of my friends will testify, it affects my life in many ways, one of which is an obsession with being organised and not being able to deal with clutter.

I’m the type of person who craves order and I cannot deal with having lots of gear lying around my bivvy. So, a decent tackle box with lots of compartments and suchlike is a must and the Fox F Boxes fit the bill perfectly. I have a medium and a large version, both the single-sided variation, the latter being the deluxe, which comes complete with loads of smaller boxes that fit inside. I spend a lot of time making sure that the box is full and, more importantly, all the essentials are to hand. There’s a place for everything and everything is in its place. The TARDIS-like F Box allows me to house loads of stuff, certainly more than I use regularly, but I can go fishing safe in the knowledge that if I need it then it’s probably with me.

There are some very good tackle boxes available and the majority of them are cheaper than the F Box. However, I would not be tempted to change my tackle box unless price was a factor when I came to replace the one that I have. These are not cheap, but they still set the standards.

Verdict: Fabulous tackle storage but at a price.
