Nash TT Hook Range - 02/07/2009

Tester: Marc Coulson
Test period: Six months

I am quite a stickler when it comes to hooks and insist on only using the sharpest possible. There are a number that I am happy to use, from one or two different companies. One range that has firmly become ensconced in my list of favourites is the TT from Nash. Teflon coated, and in several patterns that cover a wide number of applications, there is something here for everyone, in both barbed and barbless. Bottom baits and pop-ups can be fished with each of the Fang Gaper, Fang Uni, Fang X and, my particular favourite, the Fang Twister. It is a great bottom-bait pattern and some of the hook-holds I have experienced when using it have been ridiculously impressive.

As I mentioned earlier, sharpness is essential. A sharp hook is, in my opinion, the single most important piece of tackle that we use. I’m dismayed at anglers who spend literally thousands of pounds on the latest rods, reels, gadgets and gizmos, yet insist that changing their hook regularly is too expensive. Anyway, check the TT hooks out at your local Nash stockist. I can honestly say that, along with a few others, I’ll definitely be keeping these in my tackle box.

+ Useful patterns, Teflon coated and extremely sharp
- I feel the Fang Gaper benefits from the addition of a short piece of shrink tubing to slightly extend the shank
