Two of the country’s best carp anglers, and TC regulars, have signed up with two of the industry’s tackle giants to develop and design new gear.
First off, Jim Shelley has joined Vision as a full-time consultant. Not only will he be aiding in the improvement of its existing products, he will have hands-on input into the firm’s future launches as well. Jim told us: “I’m well pleased to be joining Vision and I’m really looking forward to having a big hand in developing the range, as well as coming up with new ideas for the future.” Vision boss Bryn Ilsley is also pleased with the new deal: “Jim is undoubtedly one of the best carp anglers on the planet and spends a hell of a lot of time on the bank. This expertise will definitely help Vision to keep moving forward and producing quality product at prices that all anglers can afford.”
Next up, Dave Lane has joined TF Gear in a consultant/advisory role. Dave will be calling on his wealth of angling and product knowledge to prepare an entire range of carp gear including rods, shelters, luggage and more for launch later this year. The comprehensive range is set to span all price points from top-end £300 rods right through to budget gear.
Dave told TC: ”I have plenty of ideas for the new range and can’t wait to get started on product development. The coming months will be hectic but I’m looking forward to the challenge and can’t wait for the launch.”
On a similar note, Essex-based Nash Tackle has signed record-breaking tournament caster and experienced carp angler Terry Edmonds. Company owner Kevin Nash is confident that this will push the firm into a new era for rod design and innovation; so keep your eyes peeled for some impressive new products.
Finally, respected big-fish angler Dave Levy has joined Shimano as part of Team Tribal. He joins the likes of Steve Renyard and Ali Hamidi, with a focus on aiding the further development of the Tribal specimen range.
