With all of the new book launches these days, it’s easy to forget about some of the brilliant older titles that are still available, one of my favourites of which is Mike Willmott’s Carp Life.

This was one of the first carp books that I ever read and I enjoyed it immensely. It’s also one of only a handful of books that I have ever been driven to read more than once. I won’t spoil it for you, save to say that it tells the fascinating story of Mike growing up and honing his considerable carp fishing skills on some testing venues. This is one of the best carp books ever, and from one of the country’s very best carp anglers.
