Thirties Hat Trick - 28/01/2010
Kent-based angler Lee Cleary banked three 30lb-plus carp from Mid Kent Fisheries’ Mainline Chilham Mill Lake from January 26th to 28th.
Given the cold, harsh weather conditions this was quite a feat, and a determined Lee was the only angler fishing the 26-acre pit. Critically balanced, plastic hook baits fished over a bed of pellets and corn on a silt patch in front of Peg 26, known as One Pole, proved the productive method, fooling mirrors of 30lb 4oz, 30lb 10oz and 31lb 10oz.
Lee’s impressive captures are proof that, not matter how bad the conditions, putting in the effort to be out on the bank can, and does, pay off.
