IT'S SHOWTIME! - 24/06/2010
The Big Fish is a huge, interactive fishing show being held for the first time.
Saturday, July 31st will see the event take over the entire 150-acre Suffolk Water Park site in Ipswich. Why not take advantage of masses of competitions and raffles, with prizes including top-end tackle and foreign holidays, and demonstrations and first-hand advice from big-name anglers, including John Wilson, Dave Lane and Adam Penning.
The event will see a celebrity carp match running from Friday night through to Saturday afternoon, followed by a match competition in the afternoon, with both being televised on Sky Sports. The industry’s top tackle manufacturers, including Nash, JRC, Aqua Products, Trakker and Korda, as well as retailers Hooked and Snags will be exhibiting all of the latest gear and some blinding deals for you to take advantage of. A free angling kids’ camp will keep the nippers entertained and encourage youngsters to take up fishing. For the rest of the family there are attractions including falconry, laser clay-pigeon shooting, martial arts displays and much more to keep them entertained for the day.
Event Organiser Dom Morgan told TC: “The aim for The Big Fish is to be the biggest angling show in the UK in the next three years. With such an overwhelming response from the trade for this first event I’m sure that it’s a goal that will be achieved.” The show has come about as a fundraising exercise for The Sick Children’s Trust and is already going from strength to strength. This is so much more than just another fishing show and not only will you enjoy a fantastic day out, but it’s all for a good cause too.
